Many women go uneducated, yearning to be more than what they are, but the men in their world want them to stay docile and sight unseen, suppressing them. In the many religions, women cannot attend school. They are prisoners at home to have children or to be the caretaker of men. In the Islamic religion, it is accustom for men to have more than four wives.I found some more information here. Women are only the caretakers of their children, while the fathers consider their children their property.

There is no respect given to the mother and if a woman wants a divorce or needs to divorce her husband, she knows it is better to stay married to him out of fear that she may lose her children. In the Christian faith, women are evil temptresses because of what the Bible says about Eve in the Garden of Eden. Because it states that she was the one who tempted Adam, women are wicked. In the orthodox Jewish faith, men still pray a prayer where they thank God for not being born a woman. It is because of things as this that it was also a custom that if a woman had a female child that that child would be killed. Certain religions still believe that the birth of a female baby is a source of shame.

However, in this day and age, more and more women are wanting something different. They want to have the freedom to do whatever they want to do without someone telling them what they should do. They want to live and enjoy their lives to the fullest.

More and more women are opting to work even though they have husbands or parents who support them. When they have a stable job, they have control over the money that they earn. In addition, they feel more confident about themselves. They do not need someone to tell them what they should do because they have everything under control.

The woman of today is more than capable to get what she wants and fulfill her dreams without having to depend on anyone. She has the power to face even tough situations because she is sure that she can surpass these situations without asking help from a man. Women, in various situations, have proven that they are equal to men. They should not be considered as inferior to men because they can do everything that men can, maybe even better.

Back in the days though, women were not given the opportunity to do what they want and get the things that they desire because they had no freedom to do so. In certain countries, women were not allowed to obtain an education because it was only meant for men. However, you should know that in this modern day and age, women have the freedom to do whatever they want want to do. In addition, what men get or have, women are allowed to have as well.

There are many women who want to work because they want to have financial security. More and more women are choosing to work two or three jobs because they want to have a more stable life in the future. Women also want to have independence. I know that most men will not agree with this because they think that they are the only ones allowed to have an independent life. However, there are millions of women who desire to be no longer dependent to their parents.

I started getting involved in rallies and protest on campus that highlighted the inequality between the sexes. I even tried to get involved in programs that were aimed at promoting women’s right, but found that my being a man created issues for people.

This is when I started to understand the difference between equality and reverse sexism. Some women with feminist views tend to avoid having any contact or collaboration with men at all.Didn’t catch that? This explains it. In fact, many times my efforts to help promote equality have been met with outright hostility simply because I am a man. I have been told many times by different groups of feminist that they, “don’t need the help of a man.”

Equality is not about getting back at men for the treatment of women in the past. The equalitarian movement is about creating a society where a person’s sex is a non-issue and everyone is entitled to the same potential as anyone else. In order to create a truly equal society men and women must work together to promote equality and the end of sexism between both men and women.
